Coding Compliance Coordinator
Full-time

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Performs coding audits and investigations as assigned, as means of verifying accuracy of information and compliance with coding and billing policies, practices and regulations.
  • Collects and collates internal monitoring data, tracks and trends data and issues reporting and process improvement initiatives. Coordinates external audits.
  • Provides advice, guidance and improvement recommendations to minimize risk and enhance and improve the organizations coding compliance.
  • Orientation and education for physicians, mid-levels and staff related to coding and medical record documentation.
  • Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field of healthcare compliance.
  • Responsible for assurance of accurate ICD-9 and CPT codes used to meet compliance and billing requirements.
  • Responsible for representing the Compliance Officer and department at meetings and committees as assigned.
  • Assists with other special projects.

Qualifications include demonstrated excellent abilities in:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management, Nursing and/or related experience.
  • Knowledge of health care compliance programs
  • Health care, legal field, healthcare coding and/or billing or auditing experience preferred
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret government and payer regulations.
  • Ability to make accurate independent decisions under high volume and tight deadlines
  • High degree of person integrity and credibility, and work independently with little supervision
  • Ability to write clear and concise reports, policies and other communications
  • Organization, time management, accuracy, mental awareness and effective written and verbal skills.

EP RN
Full-time

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Interacts with patient or with EP Physician to assess and respond to patient health status
  • Implements, monitors, and manages the patient care treatment plan and physician's orders
  • Assesses, evaluates and triages the patient's current symptoms; handles appropriately in NextGen
  • Provides education on tests, procedures, and medications.
  • Works extensively in Cerner/NextGen or other electronic health record systems
  • Skilled in multi-tasking and performing job duties successfully within a fast-paced clinic
  • Active understanding of and performance as a team-player
  • Aptitude for establishing and maintaining effective relationships with patients, physicians, and colleagues.

Qualifications include demonstrated excellent abilities in:

  • Current RN license in State of Michigan, BSN preferred
  • Minimum of two years prior clinical experience in cardiology practice office setting or cardiovascular nursing (critical care, intensive care, cardiac rehab, cardiac cath lab, emergency room or equivalent hospital experience) required.
  • Knowledge of telemetry, pacemakers, implantable cardiac defibrillators, electrophysiological procedures, holter and event monitoring, and preparing for, administering, and reading EKG's
  • Excellent time management, organizational, interpersonal communication, written and verbal communication skills required
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and EMR Systems
  • BCLS and ACLS certified

Part-time - 0.6 fte

Responsibilities Include:

  • Room patients
  • Checks patient vital signs, height, weight, EKG, ABIs as indicated
  • Prepares patient charts and completes patient chart review prior to office visit
  • Implements provider orders such as ordering medications, applying holter monitors and referring to hospital schedulers to schedule procedures
  • Collaborates with Physician, NP or RN related to specific patient concerns
  • Completes documentation in Electronic Medical Record
  • Promotes wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician instructions
  • Cleans, maintains, performs quality control on, or oversees the maintenance of patient room equipment
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills

Qualifications: 

  • Graduate of an approved/accredited MA program and certified or eligible for certification within 6 months of hire
  • Graduate of an approved/accredited practical nursing program.
  • Currently licensed as LPN with the State of Michigan
  • Two or more years of experience in physician office setting
  • BLS Certified

Physician Assistants/Nurse Practitioners – Meijer Heart Center
Full-time

Responsibilities Include:

  • Conducts history/physical examinations, admission work-ups, consults including/assessments/plans in collaboration with supervising physician
  • Responds to floor calls, evaluates patients as needed for post-procedure complications, change in medical condition or other patient/RN concerns
  • Daily rounds on hospitalized patients, monitoring therapy, provides continuity of care as able
  • Documents patient information and care in medical record including dictation of H&Ps and consults. Uses EMR effectively for outpatient care
  • Coordinates all pre-procedure, post-implant clinical processes/provides case management for patients on mechanical circulatory support devices.
  • Provides clinical/technical support to doctors and allied health staff in operation of mechanical support devices, including emergent evaluation of clinical/technical problems, development of solutions.

Qualifications: 

  • Current NP or PA license in State of Michigan
  • Minimum of two years of MLP experience in an acute hospital setting preferred
  • Must be able to work with constant interruptions in a fast-paced work environment
  • Maintain accuracy and professional communication skills
  • Be a positive team player
