The Comprehensive Cardiac Recovery Unit (CCRU) is where patients go after testing in the cardiac catheterization lab. Patients undergoing the following procedures will be cared for in the CCRU:
- Irregular heart rhythms
- Cardioversions
- Chest pain ruling out Myocardial Infarctions (MI, heart attacks)
- Intravascular Radiation Therapy (Brachytherapy, IVRT)
- Cardiac Catheterizations
- Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA)
- Stents
- Permanent and temporary Pacemakers
- Automatic Internal Cardiac Defibrillators (AICD)
- Peripheral Angioplasty and Stents
- Electrophysiology Studies (EPS) and Ablations
- Patients waiting to have open heart surgery
The CCRU is staffed by experienced Registered Nurses and Unit Coordinators who are happy to answer your questions.
