Scope of responsibilities includes general cardiology patient care in collaboration with and under the direction of a cardiologist including initial cardiac patient consultations, supervision of diagnostic testing, preparation of admission orders, and medical care oversight of hospitalized patients. Must hold appropriate PA or NP Michigan credentials and a minimum of 2 years experience in a hospital setting.
Provides direct support to Interventional, Academic, Advanced Heart Failure, and Blodgett Rounding Physicians. Assists with consults and admissions. Coordinates patient procedures with cath lab staff. Triages calls related to patient care issues developing plan of care in collaboration with physician and/or PA. Works in collaboration with hospital staff to coordinate care for patients. Coordinates discharge planning and provides discharge education for patients on the cardiology service. Must be self-directed and able function with minimal supervisor. Strong organizational skills along with exceptional verbal and written communication skills required. Previous cardiac nursing experience preferred. Hours are primarily Monday through Friday day shift with some weekend rotation required.
West Michigan Heart is seeking a candidate with a clinical background and experience in Electronic Medical Records systems to assist with the development and implementation of our EMR. The Electronic Medical Record at West Michigan Heart represents a key component of our vision, mission, and operating goals. The EMR Clinical Application Specialist will be responsible for the build of our NextGen EMR clinical templates and will be expected to work in concert with various functions within the clinical teams in the ongoing build and support of the system. The candidate will work closely with vendor counterparts to assist with some of the technical aspects of product implementation/rollout and support, particularly in the area of interface to other applications.
Once the software is designed and developed, the EMR Specialist will conduct training programs at all of our site locations, looking constantly for improvement opportunities within the software. The Specialist will assist coordinators in developing programs and procedures for well defined routine business problems that utilize the EMR tool, and will assist in the ongoing support of the application, including end user support questions and issues. The Specialist will monitor the systems for data quality, efficiency, operation, and data integrity across the various application functional components, and will document required data elements and assist in the build of standard reports.

Have the ability to develop medical consensus with medical and nursing professionals.
Be responsible for facilitating user-level design changes to create West Michigan Heart’s specific system, and implement a change management approval process via appropriate channels.
Document end-user processes and tool functionality.
Conduct training to staff during rollout of the EMR and after.
Requirements
Demonstrated success working in a matrix-managed environment
Thorough understanding of hospital inpatient and clinic outpatient operations, preferably with cardiology experience.
Knowledge of computer systems and software to combine the integral relationship of informatics to a clinical setting.
Experience managing, supporting, and/or implementing complex projects that require coordination of resource and project planning is required.
Excellent customer service, problem solving and analytical skills along with strong verbal and written communication skills required.
Desired
Demonstrated expertise in implementing health care information systems
A Bachelor’s degree in a nursing or related field with some informatics experience preferred.
Certification in NextGen or other EMR package is preferred.
Application training as well as or other health care application experience preferred.
Experience with report writing tools such as Cognos or Crystal Reports
Provide Physician Assistant services for inpatient and outpatient office setting at Metro Site. Duties include, but are not limited to: Daily rounding on inpatients, consults, office visits, testing, and appropriately maintaining charting and billing duties associated within scope of job function. Must hold appropriate PA Michigan credentials; license must be in good-standing and a minimum of 2 years experience.
Lead Cardiac CT Technologist to provide quality computed tomography imaging according to physician’s instructions. Ability to start IV’s, administers contrast materials, positions patients accurately and skillfully, monitors patient safety and fully operates the CT equipment and computers. Skills for success: Ability to start a new program, comply with all accreditation standards, strong leadership skills, graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology and a minimum of 3 years experience in CT imaging required, and cardiac CT experience preferred. ARRT registered technologist, RT (CT) required as well as an ACLS.
Responsibilities include scheduling, and cross-functional job duties when deemed necessary such as check-in and out, and other clerical duties as assigned. Skills for success: Minimum of 2 years of healthcare clerical experience in the specific areas of scheduling, check-in and out, phones, basic office equipment, and computer technology. Must be able to work with constant interruptions in a fast paced work environment, maintain accuracy, excellent customer service and communication skills and be a positive team player.
